Jets Finish Off Smokies in 12
Tennessee got a terrific performance from first baseman Steve Marwat, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kennesaw Jets. Kennesaw won the Smokies Stadium contest, 9-6. Marwat was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Kennesaw reliever Jeffery Clayton was the winner. His record is now 2-7. Hisanobu Yamashita took the loss. Getting the save was Nicolas Alonso, his 2nd.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 12th inning. With two out, Walt Davis hit a first pitch fastball from Hisanobu Yamashita for a 2-run double. It put Kennesaw in front, 8-6.

"There's no quit in this team," said Jets manager Orlando Batista.

At 33-45, the Jets find themselves in 11th place in the Menard's A.
