Alemán, River Rats Too Much for Smokies
The Columbia River Rats grabbed a 12-7 win over the Tennessee Smokies at Columbia Stadium. Columbia second baseman Guillermo Alemán went 3-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Columbia starter Ki-tong Teoh was credited with the win after throwing 80 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-4. Their 35-40 record puts the River Rats 8th in the Menard's A.

The Smokies had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the River Rats going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old center fielder Seb Considine came to the plate. Considine hit a 2-run double on a first pitch cutter from Tennessee hurler Carlos Cabael. It was Considine's 15th double of the year.

"It feels good to get this one," Alemán told the Columbia Today.
