Victory Over Patriots Takes Hollywood to 68-37
|
The Hollywood Shredders topped the Boston Patriots by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Baldomero Avino. Avino went 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Shredders on the day. The Patriots, now 46-59, have lost 4 in a row.
The Shredders got a big at-bat from designated hitter Orlando Velásquez. For the game, Velásquez went 1-5. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 30th hit of the season gave Hollywood a 2-1 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Avino said after the game.
