Billy Dotson left his imprint on the 4-3 Portland win against the Las Vegas Flamingos. Dotson, who is tied for 9th in the PL with a .362 on-base percentage, was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Cristián Moreno was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Portland has now won 4 games in a row.
The Flamingos had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Evergreens going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old second baseman Eugene Bowman came to the plate. Bowman hit a run-scoring single on a 2-1 curveball from Las Vegas hurler Kagetoki Matsubara. It was Bowman's 95th hit of the year.
