Generals Sneak Past Bulls, 3-2
|
The Generals faced a stiff challenge from Belleville pitcher Bartolo Guerra, but persevered to claim a win at Washington Park. The final score was 3-2. Guerra went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Rob Joseph earned the save, his 1st. The Generals saw their win-loss record go to 27-34. At the same time, the Bulls fell to 32-29.
Washington took a 3-2 lead on Bari bin Sayyid's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Belleville pitcher Brad Coker in the bottom of the eighth.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Belleville skipper Lou Cook, "and it cost us."
