Chukars Nip Caterpillars, 3-2
|
Idaho Falls and Grand Forks duked it out at The Cocoon and the Chukars came out victorious.
Idaho Falls turned a good effort from starter Todd Hanley into a win over the Grand Forks Caterpillars at The Cocoon. The final score was 3-2. The winning pitcher was Hanley, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. The save was credited to Ryan Neal, his 7th.
Idaho Falls relied on the bat of Oscar Henson to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Chukars ahead, 3-2. For the game, Henson had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Scott Alexander.
The Chukars own a robust 39-16 mark.
