Voodoo Lose, 5-0, at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum
|
Philadelphia 1776 starter Masami Kogawa put a stranglehold on the New Orleans offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the BC to a 5-0 win. Kogawa got the win, improving to 5-14. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 8.1 innings. Kogawa allowed no earned runs. The Voodoo, now 63-40, have lost 4 in a row.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fourth inning, but Kogawa was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 3rd and New Orleans trailing 2-0, Kogawa retired Olaf Esveld, who flied out.
