Bulls Get Win, Extend Streak to 5
|
The Mt. Vernon Bulls got a stellar performance from pitcher Alastair England, who handcuffed the Belleville offense en route to a 2-0 win at Belleville Field. Craig Wash was called on to finish, recording his 6th save. Mt. Vernon has a 5-game win streak, while Belleville has lost 3 in a row.
Mt. Vernon used the timely hitting of Vicente Colón to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Bulls on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Lou Cook.
