The Kennesaw Jets and Idaho Falls Chukars put on a pitchers' duel at Idaho Falls Park.
Kennesaw starter Ángel Franco put a stranglehold on the Idaho Falls offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Jets to a 2-1 win. With the win, Kennesaw goes to 19-26, while the Chukars fall to 33-12.
Franco, the winner, is now 1-2. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 5 Ks. He essentially shut down the Idaho Falls offense.
Afterward, Jets manager Orlando Batista was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
