Victory Over Grasshoppers Takes Ft. Polk South to 47-14
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks bested the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 4-1, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Teng Xuefeng was named player of the game. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ft. Polk South starter Kyle Overhill was credited with the win after throwing 87 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-2. Ft. Polk South is now 47-14, 6½ games up in the Premier AA.
Xuefeng contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Ft. Polk South in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Xuefeng took a fastball from John Combs and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Thunder Hawks to leap in front, 2-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Xuefeng. "And not try to do too much."
