Sonics Stick Grasshoppers with 4-1 Loss
The Atlantic City Sonics took San Bernardino pitcher Manny Pinto's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Field of the Grasshoppers. The final score had Atlantic City getting past the Grasshoppers, 4-1. Pinto went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. Santiago Morán got the save, the 1st for him this season. Their 25-34 record puts the Sonics 7th in the Premier AA.

Atlantic City used the timely hitting of John Clements to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sonics on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Clements told a Atlantic City Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
