Dotson Powers Evergreens to 9-3 Win
|
Portland played host to Hollywood at the friendly confines of Evergreen Park.
The Portland Evergreens defeated the Hollywood Shredders, 9-3, in United States Premier League action at Evergreen Park. Billy Dotson received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Natalino Golaio picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 0. On the season, he is now 1-0.
Dotson contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Portland in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Dotson took a splitter from Esteban Rodríguez and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Evergreens to leap in front, 2-1.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Dotson.
The Shredders, now 5-5, have been pitiful so far.
