Screaming Eagles Get Road Win, 4-1
|
Mercer Island starter Noah Walker put a stranglehold on the Springfield offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Screaming Eagles to a 4-1 win. In 7.2 innings, Walker surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Mercer Island has now won 3 in a row.
Mercer Island used the clutch hitting of Maxence Sultanbekov to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to give the Screaming Eagles the lead, 2-0. For the game, Sultanbekov had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"What we get, we earn," Sultanbekov told the Mercer Island Today.
