Continentals Hang 8-4 Loss on Thunder Hawks
The Chesapeake Continentals beat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 8-4, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The Continentals got a fine performance from third baseman Lenny Penaligan, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Chesapeake reliever Miracle Popoola picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Kyle Overhill took the loss. Ramiro Valdés recorded the save for Chesapeake, his 7th of the season.

Chesapeake took a 6-3 lead on Penaligan's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Xiu-tou Song in the top of the sixth, propelled Chesapeake to the win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Penaligan told reporters after the game.

With the win, Chesapeake goes to 19-32, while the Thunder Hawks fall to 39-12.
