Bulls Get Past Columbia for 2-1 Win
Mt. Vernon and Columbia duked it out at Columbia Stadium and the Bulls came out victorious.

Mt. Vernon Bulls starter Ralph Dunn turned in a top-notch performance against the Columbia River Rats at Columbia Stadium. The result was a win for the Bulls, 2-1. The save went to Denny Matthews, his 1st this season.

Mt. Vernon used the timely hitting of Steffen Schulte to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Dunn.

Even with the win, the Bulls have a dismal 9-26 record.
