6-2 Win by Chukars Continues Hot Start
|
The first-place Idaho Falls Chukars welcomed Grand Forks to Idaho Falls Park.
The exploits of shortstop Ronald Lithgoe, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A in home runs with 7, helped the Idaho Falls Chukars defeat the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 6-2. Lithgoe was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Zuo-lin Liang got the win, improving to 5-1. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0.
Lithgoe had a key at-bat for Idaho Falls early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and gave Idaho Falls an early 2-0 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Lithgoe told the Idaho Falls Bulletin.
Idaho Falls is in first place in the Menard's A with a record of 27-8.
