Evergreens Walk Off with Win
|
The Portland Evergreens turned back the Hollywood Shredders, 5-4, at Evergreen Park. Félix Castellanos was named player of the game for his fine performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Portland reliever Raúl Romero picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mark Valle shouldered the loss. The 6th-place Evergreens raised their record to 48-50.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Castellanos hit a slider from Mark Valle for a solo home run. The Evergreens, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Castellanos.
