Caterpillars Come Up Short at Idaho Falls
|
Idaho Falls rode a fine outing from starter Nicolaas Eland to victory over the Grand Forks Caterpillars at Idaho Falls Park. The final score was 3-2. The first-place Chukars have a one-game lead in their division.
Kazuki Takahashi went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk for Idaho Falls. The 18-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Carlos Menéndez. It was his 5th walk of the season.
"I felt good up there," said Takahashi. "I saw the ball well."
