Campos Excels, Belleville Blows Out Mt. Vernon
|
A 3-RBI performance from center fielder Amor Campos, who is tied for 5th in the 3A with a .316 batting average, led the Belleville Bulls to a 13-3 win over the Mt. Vernon Bulls. Belleville reliever Noah Askew picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Bill Holbrook was saddled with the loss. The 5th-place Bulls have won 4 in a row.
Belleville used the clutch hitting of Aristotle Auer to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to give the Bulls the lead, 3-2. For the game, Auer had 3 singles and 1 double in 6 at-bats.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Campos.
