Extra-Inning Win by Chukars over River Rats
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars topped the Columbia River Rats, 7-5, with youngster Vinnie Nuyten playing a key role. Nuyten went 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Chukars in the win. Ryan Neal, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Mathis Vial nailed down his 1st save.
Idaho Falls used the clutch hitting of Wei-hong Won to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Chukars ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"Exciting game to play in," said Nuyten. "Getting the win makes it even better."
Idaho Falls has now won 4 straight.
