Thunder Hawks Subdue Lake Minnetonka, 4-2
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks beat the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 4-2, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Ft. Polk South center fielder Roberto Baca earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dave Lawson, credited with the win, is now 2-4. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.1 innings. The 4th-place Love Boats have lost 6 consecutive games.
Baca had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 changeup from Mark Jacobson, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Thunder Hawks a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Baca.
Baca told a Ft. Polk South Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
