Chukars Slip Past Columbia, 3-2
|
Idaho Falls Chukars starter Masao Myoga was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Columbia River Rats, 3-2. Idaho Falls reliever Bumper Pool picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. António Morales shouldered the loss. Henry Burge finished the game for Idaho Falls and earned his 1st save.
Emerson Horton hit a solo home run off António Morales in the top of the 12th, which put the Chukars ahead, 3-2. In addition to the homer, Horton had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.
Afterward, Chukars manager Sherwood Baker was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
Idaho Falls now sits in first place in the Menard's A at 23-6.
