Continentals Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Chesapeake Grounds was the site of a tense game between the Olympia Ogres and Chesapeake Continentals.
Chesapeake right fielder Ricardo Serna played a vital role in his team's 3-2 triumph over Olympia. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Chesapeake. Chesapeake reliever Ramiro Valdés picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Colton Moonfall shouldered the loss.
Late in the game, second baseman Manuel Márquez had a big at-bat for Chesapeake. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Colton Moonfall. The play gave the Continentals a 3-2 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Chesapeake manager Allen Evans.
The winning streak has now reached 7 games for Chesapeake.
