Loons Need Extras to Top Grasshoppers
The Minnesota Loons beat the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 5-4 at Field of the Grasshoppers, in part due to center fielder Craig Edwards, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ricardo Ramírez nailed down his 2nd save. Minnesota occupies 6th place in the Premier AA at 11-13.

Júlio Souza's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Walt McPike for a run-scoring single. It put Minnesota in front, 5-4.

"We take it day by day here," said Souza, "and today was a good one for us."
