Generals Get One-Run Win at Idaho Falls
|
Washington used a superb performance from starting pitcher Pascal Durand to down the Idaho Falls Chukars, 2-1. Durand went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-3. John McNeill finished the game for Washington and earned his 4th save.
Washington used the timely hitting of Félix Olvera to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Generals on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Pascal did a tremendous job," said Washington manager Desmond Woodford.
Washington has a 3-game win streak, while Idaho Falls has lost 3 in a row.
