Evergreens Win, Cuan goes 3-for-4
|
The Portland Evergreens topped the Chicago Silver Sox by the score of 13-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Fu-Kang Cuan. Cuan went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6 for the Evergreens on the day. Keith Rojas got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The Evergreens move to 45-48 with the win, while the Silver Sox drop to 51-42.
Cuan contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Portland in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Cuan took a screwball from Stanford McCain and stroked the double to left-center. His 9th double of the season allowed the Evergreens to leap in front, 3-2.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Cuan told the Portland Gazette.
