Continentals Saddle Sonics with 5-3 Loss
|
Ricardo Serna was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Atlantic City Sonics. The right fielder was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Chesapeake Continentals. Paul Workman got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Tom Lee sewed up the save, his 1st.
Chesapeake took a 5-2 lead on Serna's 9th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which he hit off Gaberiela Tatafu in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Chesapeake to the win.
"It feels good to get this one," Serna told the Chesapeake Today.
With the win, Chesapeake elevates its record to 3-5.
