Ft. Polk South played host to Virginia at the friendly confines of Thunder Hawks Ballpark.

Ft. Polk South overcame a superlative game from Wilson Valenzuela to beat Virginia, 4-1. The Virginia pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Kyle Overhill got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 1. António García, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

The Thunder Hawks grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With two out, Teng Xuefeng hit a solo home run off Wilson Valenzuela, putting Ft. Polk South in front, 2-0. For Xuefeng, it was his 2nd home run of the season.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Xuefeng.

The Thunder Hawks, now 6-0, have hit the ground running this season.
