Late Rally by Grasshoppers Secures Win
|
San Bernardino beat Mercer Island at Field of the Grasshoppers, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder Albert Seals, who earned player of the game honors. Marcus Morgan picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jeremy Gonzáles was tagged with the loss. The Screaming Eagles, now 3-2, have been pitiful so far.
Seals had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 slider from Ryan Fry, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Grasshoppers a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Seals.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Mercer Island skipper António Molina.
