McGirt Delivers Walk-Off Win for Evergreens
|
The Evergreens faced a stiff challenge from Northern Virginia pitcher Ratko Davidovic, but persevered to claim a win at Evergreen Park. The final score was 4-3. Davidovic went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The Evergreens improved to 43-47.
Willie McGirt was the walk-off hero for Portland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Evergreens left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," McGirt said after the game.
