Asheville third baseman Don Skerrett was instrumental in his team's 7-2 win over the Biloxi Shuckers. Skerrett, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in home runs with 11, went 1-2 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Highlanders. Mario Sánchez closed it out for his 2nd save. The Shuckers, at 40-53, have lost 4 straight games.

Asheville took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, catcher Dan Olson hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
