The San Antonio BC overcame a good performance by Akron center fielder Pat Carter to knock off Akron, 6-3, at San Antonio Field. Carter was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Steve Fitzpatrick earned the win for San Antonio. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 7-2. Craig Wash earned the save for San Antonio, his 6th.
José González, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA in triples with 4, chipped in for San Antonio with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I like our moxie," said BC manager John Wright.
The BC improve their record to 51-40 with the win over Akron.
