Nationals Come Back Late, Nip Atoms
|
In a low-scoring clash between Ottawa and Bethesda, pitcher Gerald Emerson was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned player of the game honors for Ottawa in the 3-2 win. The win was credited to Aki Sato in relief. His record improves to 2-4. François Boyer took the loss. The Nationals raised their record to 40-48.
Jason Powell was the walk-off hero for Ottawa. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Nationals left fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"Feels good to get the job done," Powell said after the game.
