Highlanders Fall to .500 After Loss to Blimps
|
Akron turned a good effort from starter Ken Richmond into a win over the Asheville Highlanders at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The final score was 2-0. Mamadou Boutin got the save, his 16th in 19 chances. Akron is now 48-38. Asheville is 43-43.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Hans Rager didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Asheville trailing 2-0, Rager retired Christian Cole to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Rager, with a wink.
