Blimps Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Tacoma
|
The Akron Blimps topped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 7-3, in M3L Double A action at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The player of the game was Akron pitcher and Pontiac, Michigan native Kazuhiko Higuchi. In 8.1 innings, Higuchi surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Mamadou Boutin was called on to finish, recording his 14th save.
Akron took a 6-3 lead on Pat Carter's 4th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Tacoma pitcher Anthony Lang in the bottom of the seventh.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Carter.
Akron is now 46-36, Tacoma 36-46.
