Akron Blimps starter Kazuhiko Higuchi pitched a strong game against the Richland Rails at Rails Ballpark, leading the Blimps to a 8-3 win. Akron is now 43-34.

It could have been a different outcome for Akron, had it not been for Bob Giles, the 21-year old catcher . Giles contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Akron up, 3-1.

Giles told a Akron News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
