Shuckers Subdue Polar Bears, 9-5
|
The Biloxi Shuckers beat the Billings Polar Bears, 9-5, at The Pizza Oven. The Shuckers got a fine performance from designated hitter Dan James, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Joe Gram was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. The Shuckers move to 31-46 with the win, while the Polar Bears drop to 35-42.
Seb Blanch put Biloxi in front, 4-0, when he took Mubariz Amatuni downtown. His 3-run home run came with no one out in the bottom of the first. It was his 14th home run of the season.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Blanch told the Biloxi Today.
