Highlanders Rally For Late Win Over Fur Traders
|
The Asheville Highlanders did just enough to sneak past the Tacoma Fur Traders, 3-2, at Asheville Park. Asheville pitcher Vincent Hubbard earned player of the game honors. Picking up the save was Ramón Barrueco, his 4th. The Highlanders' win now puts them at 38-38.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, pinch hitter Cleveland Kraut came through big-time for the Highlanders. With Asheville trailing 2-1, he belted a solo home run.
Hubbard called the win "a collective effort."
