Jeremy Brody could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Marquette Miners lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. The winner was Asheville reliever Alex Edgar, now 5-2. The loser was Jeremy Brody. Ramón Barrueco finished the game for Asheville and earned his 2nd save.

Had Dan Olson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Olson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Highlanders.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Marquette manager Christos Galpin, "let me know."

Asheville is now 35-36, Marquette 40-31.
