The Akron Blimps powered past the Ottawa Nationals, 11-4, at Nationals Park. Roberto Vázquez went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Ottawa now has a 5-game losing streak.

Akron used the timely hitting of Raffaello Dichio to capture the win. The catcher socked a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Blimps ahead, 7-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Vázquez told the Akron News. "It's as simple as that."
