The 2039 season is getting ugly for Las Vegas.
Portland Evergreens starter Clarence Jones was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Las Vegas Flamingos, 6-2. The winning pitcher was Jones, now 5-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5.
Portland used the timely hitting of Blaze Alexander to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Evergreens on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Clarence is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck.
At 37-42, the Evergreens are currently 6th in the Premier League.
