Rails Stay Hot, Beat Nationals
|
The Richland Rails reigned over the Ottawa Nationals in damp conditions at Nationals Park.
The Ottawa Nationals wasted an impressive 5-inning effort from starter Gerald Emerson, falling 2-1 to the Richland Rails at Nationals Park. Richland improves to 44-22 with the win. They lead their division by 6 games.
Richland used the timely hitting of Kel Warren to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rails on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Warren told the Richland Daily News.
