Victory Pushes Highlanders Record to 32-31
|
Asheville Highlanders starter Alberto Ortíz was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Bethesda Atoms, 4-2. Ortíz, the winner, moves to 5-4. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. Jeffery Johnston notched his 19th save in 20 chances.
Dan Olson drove in one run for Asheville. In the bottom of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Olson delivered for the Highlanders. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Asheville on top, 3-2.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Olson told the Asheville Citizen.
The Highlanders bumped their record to 32-31 with this latest triumph.
