The Asheville Highlanders downed the Bethesda Atoms, 10-5, at Asheville Park. The Highlanders were led by Cleveland Kraut, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. David Fuentes, the winner, improved to 6-3. He held the Atoms to 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Earning his 18th save for Asheville was Jeffery Johnston.
