The Portland Evergreens got a stellar performance from pitcher Giovanni Mireles, who handcuffed the Vancouver offense en route to a 3-2 win at Evergreen Park. Mireles, now 6-6, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Ron Mingo locked down his 2nd save.

Chipping in for Portland was designated hitter Jeff Solís. He stroked a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the third. For the game, Solís was 1-4 with a triple.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Mireles said.

At 36-42, the Evergreens find themselves in 6th place in the Premier League.
