Akron played host to Tacoma at the friendly confines of Goodyear Hanger Dome.
The Akron Blimps thumped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 8-2, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Ruby Rhod was a big reason his team got the win. Rhod was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Ismael Pérez, who threw 107 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 2 hits.
Jhett Larson hit a 2-run double off Mo-ruo Kum in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Blimps in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Larson had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Larson said.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Akron.
