Polar Bears Cut Down Fur Traders, 5-3
|
Billings left fielder Wilbur Thomas made his presence felt in the 5-3 Polar Bears triumph over the Tacoma Fur Traders. Thomas was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Billings reliever César Luna picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Pedro Montáñez took the loss. Billings is now 15-13, Tacoma 13-15.
Billings used the timely hitting of César Enríques to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Enríques.
