Drummers Roll to 8-2 Win Over Lake Monsters
|
The Tortolita Drummers beat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 8-2, at Monster Field. The Drummers got a fine performance from right fielder Scotty Glenn, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Risto Hannila picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Mike Hess was tagged with the loss. The Drummers now have a mark of 59-37.
With Tortolita leading 3-2 in the top of the eighth, Glenn hit a 2-run double off Vermont hurler Eduardo Flores. It was the 21st double of the season for Glenn and put his team ahead, 5-2.
"I thought we played a nice game," Glenn told the Tortolita Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
