Rails Subdue Tacoma, 3-1
|
The Richland Rails topped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 3-1, in M3L Double A action at Rails Ballpark. The player of the game was Richland pitcher Dong-hwan Namgung. Namgung, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Muoi Hoan earned the save, his 6th, for the Rails.
Koryusai Ohayashi had a big 2-run double for the Rails in the bottom of the third inning. With Richland trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a cutter from Kent Martin and stroked the double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rails ahead, 2-1.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Namgung told reporters after the game.
Tacoma's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
