|
Tortolita designated hitter Scott Janousek had a 4-RBI game, leading his team in its 9-3 defeat of the Alloway Halberds. Janousek picked up 2 singles and 2 doubles in the ballgame. The win was credited to Chet Gustafson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bob Bolen took the loss. Jerry Magee nailed down his 2nd save.
Scotty Glenn's at-bat in the top of the second inning was a big one for Tortolita. Coming to bat with no one out, the bases loaded and Tortolita trailing 1-0, the right fielder reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run.
In postgame comments to the Tortolita Gazette, Janousek said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Drummers, at 58-35, have now won 6 straight.
